MARY MC CULLOCH dated 1763
This Scottish sampler features a number of stylistic devices seen on other Scottish samplers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries including the intense color palette with an emphasis on reds and greens and the arcaded pansy band in the upper third.
It has been densely stitched in a variety of stitches including cross, double running, queen, back, eyelet and petit point.
On 35 count linen, in a palette of nineteen colors, the finished piece will measure approximately 14-1/4″ x 13-1/2″.
Kits are complete with linen, floss, chart printed in full color, needle and instructions.
