MARTHA BOSTON 1848

Probably a Scottish sampler, it has been executed with wool and silk threads on homespun linen with eight rows of alphabets and numerals above a little house with trees on either side. Initials are stitched in various places atop stylized crowns.

Stitches used include cross and four sided. There is some loss to the linen in the upper left corner. The frame is probably mid 20th century. 9″ x 18″
