English Queen Anne Needlework Picture, circa 1710

This beautiful picture is executed in cross and petit-point stitch on linen canvas with silk threads. depicting an elegant woman wearing an elaborate hat, with a small castle in the background.  A peacock flies over her head. To her left is a flowering or fruiting tree.  At her feet are a dog and a pair of grazing sheep.

The beautiful rosewood frame is probably not original, but likely early 19th century.  The piece is in very good condition.

The needlework itself measures 16″19″, with the frame it is 22″ x 25″
