An American sampler made in Illinois
The sampler retains good color, is in fair condition, and is possibly unfinished, with some losses and repairs. Research by Stacy Whittaker revealed that it was made in Savanna, Illinois, Carroll County. Mary Eliza was born October 25, 1830, in Pennsylvania and married in 1846 in Savanna, Illinois.
The sampler measures 6-1/2″ x 7″, with the frame 8-1/2″ x 9″.
