Description
Scottish samplers are often easily identified by their color palette: intense shades of red, green, and pink, as well as by clusters or rows of initials of family members. This small sampler includes motifs usually seen on earlier samplers of the late seventeenth century, including the Ikat geometric designs and the large flower in the lower reserve. The stitches used are cross, eyelet, straight, and long arm cross. On 35 count linen, the finished sampler will measure approximately 8″ x 8″
