Description
BARBRA SCOTT, circa 1820
This sampler was made in Scotland and features a four sided floral border with golden corner blocks surrounding a field of alphabets, numerals, and family initials above a cluster of flower pots, birds and peacocks . The predominant colors, red and green, are often found on Scottish samplers of this period. The large alphabet is beautifully illuminated with double running stitch. Other stitches used in the sampler include back, eyelet and cross.
On 32 count linen the finished reproduction will be the same size as the original sampler: 8-1/4″ x 17-1/2″. The project is recommended for any level of skill.
