Hundreds of creatures are charted from old samplers and early canvaswork pictures, in detailed, authentic colors. Patterns date from the late sixteenth to the mid nineteenth centuries, and include chapters on birds, insects, fish, sheep, cows, deer, horses, goats, dogs, cats, rabbits, squirrels, lions, mythological beasts (gryphons, unicorns), even a crocodile, a shark, and some elephants.
