Very finely stitched sampler (probably English) with a petit point multi floral border surrounding floral motifs, including a ribboned bouquet. The verse:

See the kind shepherd Jesus stands
and calls his sheep by name
Gathers the feeble in his arms
and feeds each tender lamb

The detail in this sampler is extraordinary as hopefully the photos will show. Stitches used are cross, tent, queen, stem and eyelet. Very slight fading, excellent condition. Sampler alone 20-1/2″x20-1/2″, with the frame 24″ x 24″. The frame, with lovely gilded corner rosettes, could be original.
