German (Saxon) Band Sampler 1795

GERMAN (SAXON) BAND SAMPLER, DATED 1795
This extraordinary band sampler begins with a large parrot on a branch eating cherries, followed by four successive pictorial, allegorical bands.  Twenty-one horizontal rows of various stylized alphabets and crown motifs follow, by six final horizontal bands composed of flowers and vines.  The color is very good (the colors on the reverse are brighter, as illustrated in the photos).  The sampler is unframed.  Shadows on the photo are the result of photography under LED lights.  I can provide photos taken in daylight. I have charted part of this sampler, but I don’t plan to publish it, and I’ll offer my unfinished chart to the purchaser.
