Very finely stitched English sampler with a four sided strawberry border surrounding a central reserve with a verse and a depiction of Adam and Eve under the Tree of Life with a black serpent. Above the verse are five flying cherubs and golden stars.

Happy is he the only happy Man
Who out of choice does all the good he can
Who Business loves and others better makes
By prudent industry and Pains he takes
Gods Blessing hear he it have and mans esteem
And when he dies his works will follow him

Stitches used are cross and counted satin. Some holes, overall good color and condition. 9″x13″.
