Beautiful, finely stitched English sampler with a meandering four sided floral border centering three registers, the first with trumpeting angels flanking a religious verse with tiny birds and insects over a petit point diving band; the second with a verse titled “Heavenly Love” flanked by crowns, birds and potted flowers; the third a pastoral scene with flowers, birds, butterflies, roses, baskets and a tree. Stitches used are cross, petit point and counted satin. Unframed, 12-1/2″ x 16″, fair to good condition, lovely design.
