ELIZABETH ROBINSON

English sampler in a rosewood veneered frame with three rows of alphabets above a four line pious verse, and in the lower third a scene with flowers, trees and birds. It is stitched in fine wool on linen entirely in cross stitch, with very good color. The linen has suffered some losses. The attribution at the bottom is faded and damaged, but it appears that the date is 1834. There is damage to the rosewood veneer at the top right.
The sampler measures 14″ x 11-1/2″, with the frame it is 18-1/4″ x 15-3/4″.
