| The charming verse on this sampler came from an early nineteenth century English sampler, and inspired the designer, Musenka Kravaskaya, to design a sampler around it. Musenka (Musa for short) lives near the town of Bendery, in Moldova. A self-taught designer and needleworker who excels at improvisation and working on very fine linen, Musa uses materials supplied by The Scarlet Letter for her projects. Stitches used in the design are cross (over one and two threads of linen), eyelet, and back. On 35 count linen, the finished sampler will measure approximately 6-1/2" x 14", and is recommended for beginning to intermediate level needleworkers. |
