MARY HURST - 1661
MARY HURST 1661 from the FITZWILLIAM MUSEUM. A queen, a princess, a boxer with a bishop's crosier, and three boxers bearing acorns are featured on this fine English band sampler. The clothing on the nobles is enhanced with silver metallic bullion. The sampler begins with a section of whitework, and contains lovely arcaded pattern bands featuring roses, acorns, honeysuckle, pomegranate, pansies and daisies.
